What comes as standard
Plenty of web work in Albania is quoted cheap and delivered as a template nobody can maintain. These are the things I treat as part of the job rather than as extras on an invoice.
- You own everything. Source code, repository, hosting accounts and domain are yours from day one. No licence fees, no lock-in, no hostage situation.
- Speed is a requirement, not a nice-to-have. Pages are budgeted for Core Web Vitals before they are built, because a slow site loses both visitors and Google rankings.
- Mobile first, genuinely. Built and tested on phone viewports first, then widened — which is the order that matches how your visitors actually arrive.
- SEO foundations included. Semantic HTML, structured data, sitemaps, canonical URLs and correct metadata ship with the site rather than being bolted on later.
- One person, start to finish. You talk to the developer writing the code. Nothing is lost between an account manager and an outsourced team.

React and Next.js for interfaces, because server rendering means pages arrive fast and Google can read them without waiting for JavaScript. Node.js for APIs, so the same language runs on both ends and there is less to hold in your head. Firebase or PostgreSQL for data, chosen per project rather than by habit.

Web development questions
The things clients ask before we start.
How much does a website cost in Albania?
It depends on what the site has to do. A brochure site for a small business is a very different job from a booking platform with accounts and payments. After a short call I send a fixed quote broken down by what is included, so there is no moving target once work starts.
How long does it take to build a website?
A focused business site is usually a matter of weeks. A web application with user accounts, a database and third-party integrations takes longer, and I break it into milestones so you see working software early rather than waiting for one big reveal at the end.
Do you build WordPress sites?
Rarely, and only when a client genuinely needs non-technical people editing content daily. For most projects a hand-built site is faster, more secure and cheaper to run, because there are no plugins to update and nothing to get hacked.
Will the site work properly on phones?
Yes. Most Albanian web traffic is mobile, so I build and test on small screens first and widen from there — not the other way round. Layout, tap targets and load time are all checked on real phone viewports.
Do you handle hosting, the domain and deployment?
Yes. I set up hosting, connect your domain, configure HTTPS and put automatic deployment in place, so publishing an update is one step. You own every account — I just configure them.
Can you improve an existing site instead of rebuilding it?
Often, yes. If the foundation is sound I can fix performance, mobile layout, accessibility and SEO on what you already have. If the codebase is fighting you at every change, I will say so honestly rather than bill you for patching it.
